Daniel’s Story: Creating Something That Matters

Daniel started working with Momenta in 2023 during his final year of school. Now, alongside his Life Coach, Ash Rogers, he continues to build on his goals through the Discovery Programme.

Over time, Daniel has turned his passion for technology into something meaningful, developing his own wellbeing app, Koi: Daily Progress, designed to support others to build positive habits and make steady progress.

Daniel is a motivated and forward-thinking young person who brings creativity, curiosity, and determination to everything he does.

With a strong interest in coding and design, he has developed skills in building apps and websites, often going beyond expectations and taking initiative with his own projects. Daniel enjoys solving problems, learning new skills, and finding practical ways to turn ideas into reality.

He values growth, independence, and creating opportunities for himself and his family. With a mindset focused on progress over perfection, Daniel continues to take meaningful steps toward his goals.

The idea for Koi: Daily Progress started with something simple; Daniel wanted a tool to help him move forward in life.

As he describes it, Koi: Daily Progress is a way to “help people progress in life.”

What began as a personal project quickly grew into something bigger. Daniel saw an opportunity not only to support his own wellbeing, but to create something that could benefit others as well, while also learning everything involved in building an app from the ground up.

Daniel taught himself how to design, build, and launch the app. Developing skills in coding, user experience, and even promoting his work online.

Koi: Daily Progress was intentionally designed to be simple and calming. Daniel recognised that many tools can feel overwhelming and wanted to create something accessible and easy to start.

“It’s hard to start if it’s too complicated. Simple. Calm. Peaceful.”

The app supports users to build positive habits, set meaningful goals, track progress over time, and create momentum in everyday life.

A key turning point for Daniel was receiving feedback from real users, followed by his first payment through the app.

These moments showed him that his work was having an impact and gave him confidence to keep going.

Since launching, Daniel has continued to refine and grow Koi: Daily Progress, testing ideas and learning through experience.

Through building Koi: Daily Progress, Daniel discovered the power of momentum; both in his work and in life.

“It’s easy to progress once you build momentum.”

His lived experience has shaped the way he approaches wellbeing. For Daniel, it’s about focusing on what matters and using time intentionally.

“Putting time into the things that are important… time is limited.”

These insights are reflected directly in the design and purpose of the app.

Daniel’s experience in the Discovery Programme has played an important role in shaping both his mindset and his app.

Through coaching, he has gained clarity around his values, what meaningful goals look like, and how progress happens over time.

These ideas have directly influenced features within Koi: Daily Progress, including goal setting, reflection, and understanding emotions as part of growth.

The structure and support of coaching has helped Daniel stay focused, take action, and continue building on his ideas.

Daniel is focused on continuing to grow; both personally and with Koi: Daily Progress.

His goals include, growing awareness of the app, building a community of users, continuing to improve and evolve its features, creating something that is sustainable and supports his future.

At the same time, he remains committed to learning, creating, and exploring new ideas.

Daniel’s approach reflects the mindset he continues to develop; focus on what matters to you, keep things simple, don’t get stuck on things you can’t control, take action, and build momentum.

Daniel’s journey shows what can happen when curiosity, effort, and support come together.

From an idea to a live app, he has taken meaningful steps toward his future; building something that not only supports his own growth but has the potential to positively impact others as well.
